The Certificate IV in Disability Support (CHC43121) consists of 10 units of competency, including 7 core units and 3 elective units. These units provide a strong foundation in disability support, ensuring students gain essential skills and knowledge for the industry.

Core Units (Mandatory Units Required for Completion)

Students must complete all of the following 7 core units:

Who Can Apply?

To enroll in this course, you must provide evidence of prior study or relevant experience. You must meet one of the following criteria:

✔ Successful completion of CHC33021 or CHC33015 – Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) (evidence required via transcript or certificate) OR
✔ Successful completion of CHC30408 – Certificate III in Disability PLUS the CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set (evidence required via transcript or certificate)

These prerequisites ensure you have the foundational knowledge and skills needed to succeed in Certificate IV in Disability Support (CHC43121).

Furthermore, applicants must also meet the following admission criteria:
✔ Age Requirement: 18 years or older at course commencement*
✔ Education Requirement: Completion of Australian Year 10 or an equivalent qualification

✔ Mature-age applicants (22+) without formal education may still be considered based on individual assessment.

✔ Students under 18 must have parental consent before enrollment.

Language, Literacy, Numeracy & Digital (LLND) Requirements

To ensure students are prepared for the course, all applicants must complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) assessment by Avenue Institute. Basic computer skills are recommended for an enhanced learning experience.

Professional Experience Placement (PEP) Requirements

To successfully complete the 120-hour industry placement, students must provide:

✔ National Police Check (NPC)
✔ NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC)
✔ Working with Children Check (WWCC)
✔ Proof of Required Vaccinations (which may include COVID, Hepatitis A & B, Influenza)
✔ Any additional evidence required by the placement provider
