The Certificate IV in Ageing Support consists of a combination of core and elective units designed to equip you with the essential skills required for a rewarding career in aged care.

To successfully complete this qualification, you must complete a total of 18 units of competency, which include 15 core units and 3 elective units.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, applicants must meet the following admission criteria:
✔ Age Requirement: 18 years or older at course commencement*
✔ Education Requirement: Completion of Australian Year 10 or an equivalent qualification

✔ Mature-age applicants (22+) without formal education may still be considered based on individual assessment.

✔ Students under 18 must have parental consent before enrollment.

Language, Literacy, Numeracy & Digital (LLND) Requirements

To ensure students are prepared for the course, all applicants must complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) assessment by Avenue Institute. Basic computer skills are recommended for an enhanced learning experience.

Professional Experience Placement (PEP) Requirements

To successfully complete the 120-hour industry placement, students must provide:

✔ National Police Check (NPC)
✔ NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC)
✔ Working with Children Check (WWCC)
✔ Proof of Required Vaccinations (which may include COVID, Hepatitis A & B, Influenza)
✔ Any additional evidence required by the placement provider
